After many months of anticipation and preparation, our sweet boy arrived on a gloomy Saturday morning in April. I woke up with Adelyn around 730 intending to let Luc sleep in since he had to work later that day at Best Buy, but immediately I began feeling contractions! Since I had been having tons of Braxton Hicks contractions for quite a few weeks already, I figured that was all they were. But the contractions were about 7-10 minutes apart, so I woke up Luc (NEVER have I seen him jump out of bed so fast!!) and we called my doctor who told us to come on in to the hospital- it was time to have our baby! We called Granny (who was on standby) and arranged for Adelyn to be picked up and taken care of for a weekend at Granny's!
I had been packed for weeks (I was a bit excited!), but Luc still had to pack his overnight bag. We seemed to have switched places from the first time around with Adelyn! Auntie came to pick up Adelyn around 8am, and Luc and I headed over to Regions after that!
When we got settled, we learned I was 4cm (or 5?) dilated. Luc and I had made bets that I was at least 6cm, but we both lost- and lucky for him too because he would have had to wear my Nascar hat, hehe! Things progressed quickly, and at 2:43pm we officially welcomed our Ian into our arms, and this world! He was definitely bigger than his sister when she was born, but still small at 6lbs, 6oz and 20in long.
