September 2012- Highlights

September brought the coming (and going) of many fall family rituals. It is my favorite time of year, and it has been so much fun sharing and teaching the same traditions (such as apple picking and applesauce making) to the kids. It will only get more fun as they continue to grow older- especially so we won't have to carry them through the orchard (hehe!) I was fully immersed in the semester's classes, and Luc was bouncing between working late at GMI and every other weekend at Best Buy. We definitely miss him!

In other news, while Ian turned 4 months old at the end of August, we didn't have his check up until the 2nd week of September. He is much bigger than Adelyn was at her age, and at 4 months already wears 9-12 month clothes (crazy!)
Here are his stats:
Weight: 14lbs, 8 oz (30%)
Height: 27" (95%)
Head:16.5" (31%)

...and in comparison with Adelyn's 4 month stats:
Weight: 12lbs, 12 oz (30%)
Height: 24.75" (75%)
Head: 16.5" (75%)

Here are some favorite September memories, as taken from FB:
1 September: "I'm a nervous Mama tonight while Adelyn has her 1st sleepover..even though it's with Granny and Grandpa. What a big girl!"
6 September: "Well Adelyn thought it was okay to step on her brother's face today..."
7 September: "-'Adelyn, what should Mama make for dinner?' 'Mushrooms!'"
21 September: "At dinner I asked Adelyn if she wanted to try a bite of my salad. She tried a bite of cheese and liked it, and I told her that type of cheese comes from goats, to which she responded, 'Aww! Thank you goat!'"
25 September: "I learned a lot today from my 2 year old: First of all I was unaware we sent her to an international school...she counted from uno hasta cinco at dinner..Also, apparently the words in Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes are 'eyes and ears and mouth and butt.'"

And, finally, here are some September snapshots! :)
Adelyn perfectly traced the letter "J" for the 1st time!
Chillin in the trunk of Grampy's cruiser
Playtime!- Love that face!...
...and this one, too!
Decked out for the Vikes home opener!
"I watch the Vikings with my Daddy"
...and how Ian spent most of the home opener!
Waving that flag in remembrance of 9/11.
Every fall/spring I go shopping at the kids consignment sales. Ian has been growing at lightning speed, so this sale couldn't come sooner (so I didn't have to purchase new clothes for full price, especially with how quickly he grows!) Adelyn got to stay with Miss LaDonna to play with Addison while Mama & Ian furiously shopped. And, of course, I had him do some modeling post-shopping.
New cloth diaper covers!
A Bumbo (knockoff) with an attached rattle. Loves it!
"Man, Mom, all this shopping & modeling wipes me out!"
The proud newest member of the rolling over club!
Grampy & Ian
Somebody is happy to see Mama after class!
Prune baby!
Say "ahhh!"
It is VERY rare that Luc & I get a date night, especially one out of the house! He and some of his buddies got tickets to a Gopher game (my first one!) So nice to get out and have some adult conversations (and beverages) ;)
Date night!
How I found A during naptime...#1
...and, #2. Interesting.
Happy 5 month birthday, buddy!
Mama & Daddy enjoying a bonfire on a fall night with the Kings!
Can you tell it is Sunday football or what?!
Boys will be boys!

Adelyn singing "Happy Birthday" and more!
