Keeping Busy

Hi All!

It's been quite the busy past few weeks in the Mac-Tran household! Adelyn hit her "20 months old" mile marker on January 31st, which means that we are on the downslide to her being a big 2 year old! She has been keeping us very busy, as usual! Her latest phrase she's surprised us with is "stop it!" When she goes to school the kids use the phrase "stop it" when they don't want their friends touching them or doing something, which is good for her to learn but at the same time is a shock to us that she uses it so often, even when we are trying to help her!

A couple of weeks ago we placed a pillow in her crib in the hopes of transitioning her to her big girl bed within the coming months. At first she was not at all thrilled with it, but now she loves it! Every day/night before her nap/bedtime when we are finished reading a story and saying prayers, she immediately says, "pillow!" to lets us know she is ready for bed! In reading "Welcoming Your Second Child" by Vicki Lansky i learned that adding a pillow in the crib is a good way to transition children from the crib because it helps them center themselves and not roll around so much. She has always been a wiggler and, although she still moves around quite a bit in her sleep, the pillow does seem to lessen her wiggling a bit!

It was Luc's weekend to work at Best Buy again- we always miss him when he leaves! Usually every weekend (regardless if he works or not) we each let each other sleep in one weekend morning: Saturday is usually "my day" to sleep in, and Sunday his. This weekend Luc was (exceptionally) great and allowed me the luxury of sleeping in both days- what a treat! Earlier this week he suddenly came down with the violent 24-hour flu and was so sick that he took Monday as a sick day (his first sick day since I have known him- monumental!) He was back to work the following day though!

I thought I was also going to get hit with the flu, as I was in bed most of the day on Monday rolling in stomach pain and queasy as well. However, I lucked out and did not get as sick as Luc thankfully- especially since I've been in a lot of uncomfortable stomach pains as it is from the baby stretching, pushing, etc. On Tuesday night Luc and I were feeling good enough to make it on our long-anticipated date to the Wild game! This was the first Wild game I've been to since I was pregnant with Adelyn- so that was exciting, minus the fact the, of course, yet another MN sports team folded last minute and lost it all! Another exciting point on my end was finishing my J-Term class, and with a bang! I am so pleased to have another 4 credits under my belt, as well as to have the next few months "off" to simply prepare for the coming of baby #2. I am now in my 3rd trimester- on the home stretch!:)

When Luc goes to work on the weekends, Peanut and I spend her waking hours after nap and before bed at Granny and Grandpa's. Adelyn and Josh love each other SO much and have a very special bond, which is so fun to watch! Here is a video of the two of them playing, and just a glimpse at how much they entertain each other!

Enjoy:)
