9 Feb 2012- Joshua Sleeps Over!

A few weeks ago we got the treat of having Josh sleep over at our house. On Thursday night I picked up Josh from school and we went home and ate yummy pizza for dinner, and had lots of time to play together! Luc gave Josh an MN Wild hat from when we went to the Wild game (Adelyn has one, too), and they wore them all night!

Luc went out after dinner to celebrate a friend's birthday, and I was kind of nervous to have the kids all to myself for both bathtime and bedtime!

As always, Joshua knows he can expect OREO's at our house! Adelyn even had her first cookie with chocolate on it (the "stripes" kind.)

We put Adelyn to bed first, and then Josh & I played Uno, and dang that kid whooped me fair and square! I didn't even try to take it easy on him and he still beat me! Blame it on Granny for teaching him to save all his "wild cards" for last- got me every time! After that he went to sleep (both kids in bed by 840pm, all on my own- whew!) and even though he did get up twice to check where I was at and then say "hi" to Uncle Luc when he got home, he eventually conked right out!

Unfortunately Josh is not as great a sleeper as his cousin, as he woke up at 500am, woof! He kept Uncle Luc company while he got ready for work, and then Luc told Josh that it wasn't time to wake up yet because it was so early...and because Auntie was still sleeping, hehe! After Luc left, I let Josh come lay in bed with me and man oh man is that kid a wiggle worm! Finally, after taking so much of him tossing and turning and dropping "subtle" hints out loud, "Man, I really wish it was time to wake up now..." I finally got up and let him watch some TV. I know it was a treat for him to get to lounge all morning, in his pj's, and also to not have to rush out the door to go to school. Adelyn woke up around 845am (Josh needs to take some tips from his cousin on sleeping in!), and we ate breakfast together and then got ready to take a trip to the zoo.

While Auntie got ready, Josh & Adelyn kept each other QUITE entertained!

Of course it had to be blasted cold outside the one day we chose to make the trek to the zoo! Here are some highlights from our day!

Didn't know the vast majority of the MN Trail was outside, woops! We were freezing!

Overall, the kids had so much fun together. It was good practice for me having two kids- we all made it!
