Going in for the dip...
...And in she goes!
Adelyn also thoroughly enjoys Mama & Daddy drawing her pictures...or at least, TRYING to draw. Especially when it is her favorite character. Yes, Elmo, or as Adelyn says, "Amo!" Here's some of our sad, sad attempts:
Daddy's Elmo...
Mama's try #1
Try #2 (after looking at a picture) was a little better...
Daddy told Mommy that her bunny rabbit looked like T-Rex:(
As you can see, we won't quit our day jobs, yikes! Oh well, whatever keeps the baby girl happy!:)
A couple other milestones include Adelyn reminding us to say prayer at the dinner table by folding her hands together. She knows that something goes on in her head-shoulder area to make the sign of the cross, but she's not exactly sure where to land her hands when she says "Fater." So cute!
Another thing she has recently picked up is not only kissing her blankets ("Bear" and "Elephant"), not only making us kiss her blankets each time we kiss her, but she also makes her blankets and her puppies kiss each other!
Adelyn has also conquered saying her own name. She pronounces it, "An-en." She is QUITE the chatterbox (gee, I wonder where she gets that from?!), we call her "Chatty Addy," and she recently went from saying one-word phrases, to two-word phrases, and just this week she is consistently putting three words together! Anything we say, she picks up on- so we have to watch out...more like, I have to watch out, as I think I have more of a sailor mouth than Luc- woops!
Just one example of her picking up on words includes the time when I was changing her diaper and she said "butt" for the first time. I guess I usually say that we need to change her diaper and wipe her butt when it's stinky! I ignored her the first couple times she said "butt" and pointed, but after repeating it I felt that I had to correct her..and it only took one time- now my sweet little one and a half baby walks around saying "butt" and "gina." Great. She is going to be THAT KID who teaches all the other kids at school. But at least she knows the proper terms!
