Mac-Tran Clan: July 2012- In the Heat of Summer

Lots of new happenings around the McTran household! Ian is now 2 months old, still barely napping, and eating all the time!

Some calendar highlights include:

1 July: "My little 2 month old needs the length of 6 month sleepers already. Beanpole!"

2 July: "The resiliency of children astounds me. Adelyn has a fever of 104* and she is wide awake chatting to herself and singing Elmo songs in her bed. What a champ!"

followed by:

"This is the 2nd night in a row BOTH kids have been in bed by 9pm (all by myself I might add!) Either this is too good to be true, or the calm before the storm...."

Week of 9 July: Ian's colic seems to have faded (Hallelujah!!)

July15:

"Adelyn: Where's Daddy?

Me: Daddy's bye bye at work.
Adelyn: Daddy's at work makin money.
Me: Yes, Daddy is at work makin money so we can stay home!
Adelyn: Daddy makes money playing baseball.
Me: I wish!
Adelyn: I wish too."

19 July: While hustling to pack up the kids to drive Adelyn to school, I placed my BlackBerry on the bumper of the Pilot. And forgot. And drove off with it still there. I remembered about a mile down the road, and after I dropped off Adelyn I circled back and did find my phone...it stayed on my bumper for a long time but slid off after turning onto Pilot Knob. It was smashed to bits on the shoulder, yikes! BUT, I did get quite the upgrade that night- an IPhone!! Since I take most of the family pictures on my phone (much easier than to lug around the camera & video camera!), we decided the IPhone was a good investment! :) Woopsies, Mommy!

20 July: "As I'm getting Adelyn's breakfast ready she says, 'Mommy I dropped my napkin AGAIN! Oh dear!'"

Week of 23 July: Ian discovered his hands, and also his face with his hands (what a sweet, sweet thing to witness!)

23 July: "Ian loved Mama/baby yoga..and, of course, so did I!"

29 July: Ian giggled twice for the 1st time! I discovered he was ticklish when I was checking his rash underneath his chin/neck, and he giggled :)

After having a play date with Kelly, Summer, & Colton at their house, I discovered Ian not only enjoyed sleeping in this rocker, but slept at their house for TWO HOURS!! How did we make it over 2 months of him not sleeping?! Thankfully our neighbors Brian & Jenny had the same kind of swing from when Caroline was a baby, and were not using it...they brought it over that same afternoon- lifesaver!
