Here are some memorable moments with A during August :)
One fun thing has been her imaginary play. She is NONSTOP playing with Bear (who isn't imaginary, but she makes up scenarios with him), Joshy, and more recently "Jacob (7) and Andrew (9)," who are my sister's boyfriend's children. On the 4th of July, Adelyn really took a liking to Andrew (he was so sweet with her giving her the candy & treats that he caught for her at the parade, diving for the rings she threw him in the pool, and holding hands walking up to fireworks!), and she hasn't been able to stop including them in her daily play! Just last week, she even took her imaginary play as far as telling me where (and where not!) to sit at the breakfast table because "Jacob and Andrew" were sitting there, hehe! I love to listen to her entertain herself, all the while including her "friends." :)
Another mile-marker is the fact that she no longer wears a Pull Up for naps! In late July she was waking up from naps with a dry Pull Up...once she even had fallen asleep in the car on the drive home, and when I carried her into her bed she kept sleeping and I totally forgot she was still wearing undies. But when she awoke, she was so proud that she had fallen asleep with her underwear on! Since it was such a novelty AND she stayed dry, we just let it play from there! She is still wearing Pull Ups at night for bed...many mornings she wakes up dry, or almost dry. I'm sure if I were more consistent at waking her before Luc & I went to bed to put her on the potty chair that she would for sure make it all through the night accident free, but sometimes Mommy is forgetful...or once she has chatted away in her bed (after we've said goodnight!) for hours and she is finally asleep, I don't want to wake her! Either way, omitting Pull Ups is in our near futures...good job, Adelyn!!
