Today marks my little man's 17 month birthday, I can't hardly believe it!
It really isn't a normal day without climbing, crashing down, crying, and bruises...a day in the life of having a son!
He has expanded his vocabulary a bit this month, to include: "at" (hat), "Ja-he" (Joshy), "kank-ooh" (thank you), "moo" (moon), "ba" (ball), and "bahb" (baby). He still gets frustrated wanting to say words but being unable to say them. But he definitely knows what we mean when we talk to him. One of his favorite things is when I tell him to bring me his shoes to put them on- I'm not sure whether he likes going out more or his shoes!
Lately we have had a very special bedtime routine. Since Ian goes to bed a bit earlier than Adelyn, Luc and I take turns putting Ian down, while the other does the bathroom/brushing routine with Adelyn. For the past month or more, after Ian and I read our bedtime story, he and I have had special snuggling and prayer time. We usually sit and rock for at least 15-20 minutes, just rocking and being quiet. Sometimes he gazes up at me and just starts giggling, which of course makes me laugh. Other times he points to his eyes, then to mine, then to his nose, then to my nose. Those little moments definitely make my day, and remind me to remember such special moments in the thick of some tough, daily routine times.
Also this week, Ian's 5th tooth popped in. Quite impressive compared to big sis who still didn't have any teeth at his age ;)
Here are some highlights this past month...
Can't believe how big he is!
Playing "peek" at Granny's
Saying "goodnight" to Daddy at work...loves it!
Likes to brush his OWN teeth now
Covered himself up :)
"Drinking" his cereal (he doesn't have milk in it yet,
but he's making sure he'll be ready when he does!)
